The Secondary Principle of

TRACK AND REFLECT

Any good system requires feedback for correction. It is important to track how we are spending our time so that we can see what is working and what is not working in both our lives and our workflow. This should be for our personal improvement. If we are having to prove to our supervisors, boards, vestries, etc. that we are meeting our obligations by showing our time sheets, we're already in trouble.

Tracking should occur on two levels:
  1. Tracking of our work, so that we can compare it to our Letter of Agreement or contract to see if we are meeting or exceeding terms.
  2. Tracking of we spend time in our workflow, so we can see if we are working efficiently.

Reflection should happen on a regularly-scheduled basis so that corrections can be made.

Tools used to Implement this Principle
