The Tool
Your recipes are the lists that control your workflow. They keep you on task. If your mind wanders, you can always pick up where you left off. You can create overall, daily, weekly, and monthly recipes, as well as ones for specific tasks. Examples are probably a better way to explain - so here's an sample set:
Monthly:
This works in a pretty self-explanatory way. Do monthly recipes on the first day of every month, weekly on the first day of every week, and daily ones every day. It might be helpful to keep a printout of your recipes near your desk where you can look at it at any time.
Monthly:
- Review long-term project folders in Master Planner. Mark any for this month.
- Review all projects in Master Planner, mark tasks for this week.Daily:
- Check Voicemail
- Check e-mail
- Check social media
- Cascade paper inboxes
- Process paper inbox
- Process Master Planner inbox
- Review all tasks maked for this week and mark for today
- Work through Master Planner using Pomodoro Technique
- Work through today's task list in the Master Planner.
